Sutomore is the first stretch of sea you reach after the Sozina tunnel: from DOT's Podgorica office to the beach is about 45 km and 40 minutes. That makes it a favourite for weekends and whole summers alike — and with a car you're not tied to the main beach and promenade.
We bring the car to your apartment in Sutomore, to the railway station or to your campsite. If you're arriving by train from Belgrade or Podgorica, hand-over at the station is a common arrangement.
Parking and traffic
In summer the main road through Sutomore is slow in the evening — walkers crossing, buses stopping. Plan to get back from day trips before 19:00 or after 22:00. Parking next to the main beach is paid and fills by midday; there's more space in the streets above the railway line.
Don't leave belongings visible in the car while you're on the beach — that applies to the whole coast, not just Sutomore.
Which car for Sutomore
For the beach and Bar a small car is enough. If you're heading to Lake Skadar via Virpazar and on along the panoramic road towards Ostros, where the road is narrow and winding, a compact car with good A/C beats a big SUV.

Built-up areas, open roads and the motorway. Dipped headlights are required in daylight too, and speed cameras usually sit at town entrances.

The only toll, on the Podgorica — Bar route. The Smokovac — Mateševo motorway section is currently free.
