Why rent a car in Petrovac
Petrovac is small, but the best of it isn't on the promenade: Lučice, Buljarica, Drobni Pijesak and Reževići Monastery are a few kilometres away and buses there are rare. With a car you can cover three beaches in a day and still make dinner in Budva's old town.
From DOT's office in Podgorica to Petrovac is about 60 km through the Sozina tunnel — an hour's drive. We bring the car to your apartment or hotel, and pick-up at Podgorica Airport is an option if you're flying in.
Parking in Petrovac in summer
In July and August the car parks along the promenade are full by 10:00. It's easiest to leave the car at your accommodation and walk down to the beach; for Lučice and Buljarica set off early — Buljarica has space later in the day because the beach is 2 km long.
Don't stop in the hard shoulder of the main road through Petrovac to unload; traffic police check here often in summer.
Which car for Petrovac
For a couple or a family with one child, a small car is enough — and it's easier to park in the narrow streets above the centre. If you're planning Rumija, Lake Skadar or the road to Cetinje, take something with more power: the climb from Petrovac towards Sozina is long and steep.
